Tony Buzbee will not represent Moriah Mills in her lawsuit against alleged ex-fling Zion Williamson.
"A member of our staff spoke to her," the trial lawyer told TMZ. "After review, we declined to take her case."
"We can't comment about the details or merits of her claims," he continued. "As you know, we are contacted by numerous people across the United States daily with grievances. We can’t help them all. Some of those we do take are resolved quietly. A number are filed and litigated, like the $640 million jury verdict we achieved a few weeks back. Only a small few become public."
Mills also confirmed to TMZ that Buzbee passed on her case, explaining that her case doesn’t exactly fall under his purview.
Buzbee is known for often representing rape accusers. It’s unclear why Mills is looking to sue Williamson. She previously claimed that she and the NBA player were in a secret relationship in 2023. In November of that year, Williamson and his girlfriend, Ahkeema, welcomed their first child together.
The birth of his daughter sent Mills into a tailspin, causing her to insult Williamson online. Among her allegations was that she and the New Orleans Pelicans power forward slept together days before his child was born.
"This is not the man that I met a few years back," Mills told TMZ last week after news surfaced that she had contacted Buzbee. "This is not who I thought you would become. … I just hope you change your ways because your job and your family, and your legacy is on the line."
Williamson was also recently hit with a new lawsuit from a Jane Doe, who accused him of raping and abusing her. He responded via his attorney, saying, “The allegations contained in the complaint are categorically false and reckless. This appears to be an attempt to exploit a professional athlete driven by a financial motive rather than any legitimate grievance.”
