Serena Williams gave birth to her second child with husband Alexis Ohanian, a daughter named Adira River Ohanian.
The tennis icon took to TikTok on Tuesday to share the news. “Welcome my beautiful angel,” she wrote alongside the video, set to Bazzi’s song “Beautiful.”
In the video, Williams and Ohanian are seen sitting at a table, and kissing each other before their first daughter, Olympia, joins them. Williams then gets up to bring Adira, who’s wrapped in a baby blanket.
Her husband penned a heartfelt note to Williams and his two daughters.
“I’m grateful to report our house is teaming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and happy & healthy mama,” Ohanian wrote. “Feeling grateful. @serenawilliams you’ve now given me another incomparable gift—you’re the GMOAT.” He added, “I’ll never forget the moment I introduced @olympiaohanian to her baby sister.”
Williams and Ohanian surprised the world when she showed off her baby bump at the Met Gala in May. Later that month, she shared a clip of Olympia reacting to the news of her mother’s pregnancy. “Oh my God, I’m so excited,” the 5-year-old said.
The couple welcomed Olympia in September 2017, with Williams enduring a harrowing emergency C-section that she barely survived. She and Ohanian said their I do’s two months later.
