Rudy Gobert fired back at Shaquille O’Neal after he called Gobert the worst NBA player of all time.
Shaq shared his opinion on the latest episode of Complex’s GOAT Talk, in response to his son, Myles asking, “Who is the WOAT NBA player?”
“It is sad to see someone that has accomplished as much as you did @SHAQ both in sport and business still be triggered by another man’s finances and accomplishments,” Gobert wrote on X. “I get the entertainment part but unlike other folks, you don’t need that stuff to stay relevant.”
It appears Shaq hasn't yet responded to Gobert.
On GOAT Talk, when asked who’s the worst in the NBA, Shaq said “Rudy Gobert” without skipping a beat. Myles then asked, "He's worse than Ben Simmons?" to which Shaq said, "Ben Simmons is another bum."
Shaq explained why he chose Gobert—who is a center for the Minnesota Timberwolves—and it seems it has a lot to do with skill level.
“You know why? If you sign a contract for $250 [million], show me 250," he said. "It's a reason why I walk funny and I can't turn my neck... 'Cause I played for my $120 [million]. So you got guys like him that fuck the system over that making all this money and they can't fucking play. So I don't respect guys like that."
He said people often accuse him of “hating” for his opinion, but he thinks Gobert isn’t worth that much. "You got teachers, you got firemen, you got doctors who have real jobs and don't get paid shit," he said.
