The USA Basketball Men’s Olympic team is stacked this year.
That’s basically Mark Phillips’ takeaway in his latest skit. On Wednesday, the comedian and member of the content-creating group, RDCWorld, posted the almost 2-minute long video, writing, “Olympic Coaches when they gotta play team USA,” followed by a laughing crying emoji.
“Alright, so I know we playing against Team USA,” he says in the clip. “‘The best hoopers in the world, the big bad USA. They got [Stephen Curry], the best shooter. They got LeBron [James], the best player.’”
He then presents a couple of game plan options, which his players reject. “We can’t beat them,” one player says, to which he says, “Y’all, I told them n***as I could beat the USA. They was gone give me a raise.”
In addition to Curry and James, the USA team also includes Bam Adebayo, Devin Booker, Anthony David, Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Haliburton, Jrue Holiday, Jayson Tatum, and Derrick White.
The Olympics kick off at the Opening Ceremony on July 26 in Paris, France. Twelve countries are set to compete in men's basketball this year, with the first game on July 27.
Last month, Phillips shared a skit on wanting to leave the USA while watching the presidential debate. He used his talents to mimic Trump and Biden in a clip in which he was checking how much it costs to leave America and travel from Burbank to Tokyo. He even looks up and sees his luggage already prepared for his departure.
