A Japanese volleyball player was overly apologetic when he accidentally hit a woman on the sidelines with a volleyball.

According to TMZ, the incident happened on Feb. 1 at the SV League All-Star Games in Kobe, Japan, when Yuji Nishida was participating in a serving showcase. An aerial clip of the moment shows him serving a couple of volleyballs with ease, before an errant ball careened outside the court and hit a woman on the back.

The crowd gasps as Nishida sprints and slides on his stomach underneath the net to apologize to her. The woman then laughs, appearing to accept his apology. They both repeatedly bow to each other as he gets up, bows again, and walks back to his teammates.

After chuckling, the event’s announcer says, “What a lovely moment.”

Per Dexerto, the woman was a courtside line judge. She was properly checked and didn’t endure any injuries.

A clip of Nishida’s apology also made it to his Instagram and his IG Story. “Ichiban,” he captioned a reel he reposted to his story, likely meaning the clip was his favorite.

Nishida’s team, the Osaka Bluteon, earned a 3-0 win at the SV League All-Star Games.
