On day 1 of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders surprised fans by selecting Clemson Tigers' Clelin Ferrell with the No. 4 overall.

Many experts had pegged the defensive end as a late first-round pick, likely going in the mid-20s. The selection sparked confusion and frustration among Oakland fans who had their eyes set on more notable athletes like Josh Allen, the former edge rusher for Kentucky, or Ed Oliver, the defensive lineman out of Houston.

Though the Raider Nation knew there was a surprise in store, most of them were stunned by the risky selection. And they didn't estimate to express their displeasure, despite Ferrell being a solid lineman.

The Arizona Cardinals kicked things off by selecting Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray with the No. 1 overall pick; the San Francisco 49ers used the No. 2 overall pick on Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa, the younger brother of Chargers DE Joey Bosa; the New York Jets took Alabama defensive tackle Quinnen Williams with the third overall; and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers nabbed LSU linebacker Devin White with the No. 5 pick.

The 2019 NFL Draft first round was aired live on ABC from Nashville. Rounds 2 and 3 will go down Friday, and rounds 4 through 7 will take place Saturday.
