It appears the Lakers have secured their next star player.

On Saturday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to send Anthony Davis to Los Angeles as part of a multiplayer deal—putting an end to the months-long trade standoff.

According to Wojnarowski, the Lakers will take the All-Star center in exchange for Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram, and three first-round picks, including the No. 4 pick in the 2019 draft.

Lakers fans were understandably stoked. Putting Davis alongside LeBron James could result in the team's long-awaited comeback and significantly boost their chances at taking the 2020 championship title. Los Angeles was looking strong going into the last season after acquiring James, but failed to make the playoffs for the sixth consecutive year—an unfortunate record for the once-powerhouse franchise.
