Watch Master P and LeBron James Discuss Fatherhood During Kids' Basketball Game

The two bonded over their children during an AAU basketball game this week. Master P and James each emphasized the importance of spending time with their kids.

As two of the biggest names in sports and entertainment, LeBron James and Master P have no trouble keeping busy. But despite their growing list of respective business projects, the two always find time for their children.

James and Master P briefly discussed parenthood while sitting court-side of their kids’ Amateur Athletic Union basketball game this week, where they each emphasized the importance of being consistently present in their kids’ lives.

“[James] spends time with his kids, I spend time with my kids—you can’t get time back. You can get money back,” Master P said in a video posted on Instagram. “I feel like for me, as a father, all my heart is poured into this.”

“For sure. It’s just time, like you said. Presence and time,” James added. “When they see you around, they know you care.”

Master P, who played in the NBA in the late 1990s, was there supporting his youngest son, Mercy Mill, a 6-foot-4 freshman shooting guard. James was there to root for Bryce James, his 14-year-old son who is among the top 50-ranked high school basketball players in the country.

“They know you love them,” Master P said. “It’s about love. We’re gon’ be there to help them get better, that’s it. We know all the stuff we had to go through to get to where we’re at. It’s not gonna be easy. All I want [for] my kids is opportunity. I’mma keep pushing them, and show them you gotta work hard.”

Master P went on to congratulate James on the release of Space Jam: A New Legacy, the long-awaited sequel to the 1996 classic starring Michael Jordan. James, who recently became the first active NBA player to reach billionaire status, has received mixed reviews over his starring role in the second installment; even the original Space Jam director, Joe Pytka, slammed the Cavaliers star for failing to live up top Jordan: “The truth is that LeBron ain’t Michael,” he said.
