Dwyane Wade caught heat on Wednesday when he expressed his support for embattled comedian Nick Cannon.

"@NickCannon We are with you ... Keep leading!," the former NBA star write in a since-deleted tweet.

Wade's message came shortly after ViacomCBS announced it had terminated its relationship with Cannon, the host and producer of MTV's improv show Wild 'n Out. Company representatives said the decision was based on anti-Semitic comments made during a recent episode of Cannon's Class podcast with special guest Richard Griffin. During the discussion, Cannon and Griffin perpetuated anti-Jewish conspiracy theories involving the Rothschild family and Hollywood figures.

Cannon walked back his comments, before demanding Viacom give him "full ownership of my billion dollar Wild ‘N Out brand that I created."

Wade said his message of support had nothing to do with Cannon's controversial comments, but rather Cannon's demand for Wild 'N Out ownership.

In a subsequent tweet, Wade explained that he was "too quick to respond without being full informed" about Cannon's anti-Semitic comments, and insisted he had no tolerance for any hate speech.
