An autopsy reveals alcohol and drugs were in Tyler Skaggs' system on the night he was found dead in his Texas hotel room.

According to a toxicology report obtained by the Los Angeles Times, the Angels pitcher died from a mixture of "alcohol, Fentanyl and Oxycodone intoxication," which caused him to choke on his vomit. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner ruled the death an accident; however, the Southlake, Texas, Police Department continues to investigate the incident because an Angels employee is suspected to have been involved.

Tests showed there were 3.8 nanograms per milliliter of Fentanyl and 38 nanograms of Oxycodone in Skagg's system.

Skaggs family released a statement following the report's release.

The family also thanked the Southlake Police Department for their investigation, and said they were working with Texas attorney Rusty Hardin to assist the probe.

"We were shocked to learn that it may involve an employee of the Los Angeles Angels," the statement continued. "We will not rest until we learn the truth about how Tyler came into possession of these narcotics, including who supplied them."

Skaggs was found unresponsive at around 2 p.m. July 1 in Southlake, Texas, where he and his team were staying for a three-game series against the Rangers. It was reported that Skaggs was wearing cowboy boots, jeans, and a "decorated belt" when his body was discovered. The Times points out that the outfit appeared to be the same one he was wearing when his team landed in Texas on June 30.
