Note to self: Do not show up to a Chiefs game in Kansas City and try to show your support for the opposing team. Or else…
Unfortunately, a Patriots fan learned that lesson the hard way last night when he took a trip to Arrowhead Stadium wearing New England gear and was treated to this. Chiefs fans disrespected the guy in all sorts of ridiculous ways—and that was before Kansas City started destroying the Patriots on the field. So we can't even imagine what that one lonely fan was subjected to once that happened.
The Chiefs fans were just doing what a lot of sports fans do in the stands at games these days, though—behaving badly. Check out this video gallery of Sports Fans on Their Worst Behavior in the Stands at Games to see some other recent examples of it.
Ewwwwwww...
Date: April 2010
What Happened: After a father and daughter asked for a rowdy Phillies fan to be removed from Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia for being too drunk, one of the guy's friends decided that he was going to get some payback. So he turned around, gagged himself, and then vomited all over both of them. He was hit with an aggravated assault charge for doing what he did.
Heads Up!
Date: November 2013
What Happened: During a fight in the middle of a Jets/Blackhawks game last season, a group of players went spilling into the stands for a few seconds after a piece of glass along the boards gave way. And most of the fans who were gathered near the players jumped back to get out of the way. But one fan—who looked like he'd had one too many—used the situation as an opportunity to steal a Winnipeg's player's helmet. Unfortunately for him, everyone saw him do it.
Face Time
Date: November 2012
What Happened: A Chargers fan decided to celebrate a sack in just about the crudest way possible. A TV camera happened to focus in on him just as he did it. Yikes.
Like Stealing Candy From a Baby
Date: April 2012
What Happened: After a Rangers player threw a foul ball into the stands, two oblivious adults stole the ball from a young child and took cell phone photos of themselves holding the ball—while the kid sat directly next to them and cried his eyes out. They either didn't know that the kid was crying or didn't care. But either way, it was a mean thing for them to do.
Friendly Fire
Date: September 2009
What Happened: Typically, when you see two fans arguing in the stands during an NFL game, they're supporting opposing teams. But the two fans in this video—one male, one female—got into it during a game a few years back and then had to be physically restrained before the woman, who appeared to be intoxicated, was arrested and taken away. Is that what Lions fans used to do before their team was any good?
#^%& You!
Date: May 2013
What Happened: It's not often that sports fans get close enough to athletes to tell them how they really feel about them. But that's what Heat fan Filomena Tobias was able to do here when she stuck her middle finger directly into Joakim Noah's face after the Bulls center was ejected from a game. A photographer just so happened to snap the shot as he took a picture of Noah walking off the court.
Fiiiiiiight!
Date: January 2014
What Happened: There's nothing new about fights taking place in the stands during sporting events. Truth be told, this entire list could have been comprised of nothing but fights. But the female Alabama football fan in the clip above took fan fights to another level when she attacked an entire group of male Oklahoma fans during the Sugar Bowl this year. After seeing this, Nick Saban should have given this girl a tryout.
Boston Wrong
Date: April 2014
What Happened: A Red Sox fan went into Yankee Stadium earlier this season, got obliterated, and then tried to start a pro-Boston chant. Do we even have to tell you what happened next?
Respect Your Elders
Date: December 2013
What Happened: Do you want to get kicked in the head by a man three times your age? No? Then do yourself a favor and don't talk trash to him. This Arizona State fan found that out when he said some not-so-nice things to an older Arizona fan last season and ended up taking a foot right to his face.
Master Troll
Date: September 2014
What Happened: The guy who filmed this video is brave. He's also very, very, very, very, very stupid. He's a Ravens fan and he went into the stands in Cleveland earlier this season with a camera and filmed a bunch of Browns fans while celebrating a Baltimore touchdown. The reaction to his blatant trolling was, well, every bit as angry as you'd expect and we can't believe he walked out of there with his phone still intact.
Man Down
Date: December 2013
What Happened: The guy in this clip got a little too wasted—er, make that way too wasted—and fell backwards while trying to talk some trash to a guy with a camera. He landed about five rows down when it was all said and done. Luckily, no one was sitting in those seats. But still, damn!
Suck It!
Date: December 2010
What Happened: A Buccaneers fan didn't like seeing so many Lions fans sitting in his section during a home game. So it took it upon himself to taunt everyone in his section until one Detroit fan finally got up and said something to him. Not that it really did any good...
The Punch Heard 'Round the World
Date: October 2013
What Happened: After the Jets beat the Patriots in overtime last season, a New York fan got into an argument with a group of young ladies. It ended with the Jets fan punching one of the girls in the face. It's worth noting that both the Jets fan and several of the Pats fans were arrested for assault after the punch took place. But still, it (obviously!) wasn't a good look for anyone involved.
Throw It Back
Date: October 2013
What Happened: It's customary for Red Sox fans to throw home run balls hit by opposing teams back onto the field. What's not customary, though, is for Red Sox fans to forcibly steal those balls from female fans before throwing them back. But that's what the douche in this video did—and he got killed on social media for doing it.
At the Pro Bowl, Though?
Date: January 2013
What Happened: Guys wearing jerseys from all different NFL teams collided during the 2013 Pro Bowl. What could they have possibly been arguing about at the freaking Pro Bowl? You're in Hawaii, guys! Lighten up.
