Like a lot of people right now, Pierre Thomas is still trying to make sense of what happened to his former Saints teammate Will Smith on Saturday night. But unlike a lot of people, he says he actually saw Smith get shot and killed in New Orleans, which is obviously making it difficult for him to process what took place. He was with Smith minutes before it happened and was photographed walking around near the crime scene after Cardell Hayesallegedly murdered him.
Earlier today, Thomas took to his social media accounts to post a long message about what happened that night. He didn't get too deep into the specifics, but he indicated that he was shaken to his core by what he saw. He also called for people to use what happened to figure out a way to put an end to senseless acts of violence. Here’s the message Thomas put up:
