For whatever reason, Phil Jackson doesn’t seem to be all that concerned about Derrick Rose’s upcoming rape trial. According to a recent New York Daily News report, the Knicks team president was "aware" of Rose’s trial when the Knicks completed a trade with the Bulls for Rose back in June, but he didn’t feel the need to investigate it. He also didn’t feel the need to comment any further on it when the Daily News asked him to explain why he didn’t investigate it. And on Friday, Jackson gave a cringeworthy response when he was asked to speak on how Rose is dealing with the fact that he’s going to have to take part in a trial in Los Angeles, starting on Oct. 4:
Uhhh…maybe just go with "We’re monitoring the situation" or something along those lines next time?
Jackson then provided yet another cringeworthy response to a question a short time later when he was pressed for further comment on the case. He did say that rape is a "serious subject" this time, but he then proceeded to say that Rose "isn’t concerned" about the trial:

Jackson shot down additional inquires about the trial, but he might want to rethink the way he’s answering these kinds of questions. He can try to duck and dodge them all he wants, but as we inch closer to the trial date, Jackson is going to face more and more of them. Let's hope he's got better answers next time around.
