Once upon a time, former Ohio State/NFL running back Maurice Clarett was in a very bad place in his life. Last summer, he admitted that he “wanted to have a shootout” with police and die during his infamous 2006 arrest. But in recent years, he had seemingly turned his life around and was talking to college football players about avoiding the pitfalls that he faced when he was younger.

It sounds like Clarett has landed himself back in trouble, though. According to reports coming out of Ohio, he was arrested on Sunday and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI) after he was pulled over early in the afternoon. He refused to take sobriety and blood-alcohol tests and was ordered to make a court appearance later this week to answer to the OVI charge.

Clarett served more than three years in prison on robbery and weapons-related charges after spending one season at Ohio State and playing briefly in the NFL. Stay tuned for updates on his latest legal issue.
