The Kings have finally decided to pull the trigger on a trade involving DeMarcus Cousins.

Just about an hour after the 2017 NBA All-Star Game ended on Sunday night, Yahoo! Sports reporter Adrian Wojnarowski and ESPN reporter Marc Stein both reported that the Kings and Pelicans had finalized a deal that will send Cousins to New Orleans. According to what's being reported, the Kings will receive Buddy Hield (who, oddly enough, was ejected from a game recently for punching Cousins in the groin), Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway, and first and second round draft picks in exchange for Cousins and Omri Casspi.

The deal doesn't come as a complete surprise, seeing as how trade rumors have been circulating around Cousins for months now. But this latest batch of rumors popped up suddenly and escalated quickly. Just hours before the start of the All-Star Game, Wojnarowski began reporting about the possibility of a trade taking place:

And within about six hours of those reports, the deal was done. It left many NBA fans, especially Kings fans, stunned:

Prior to the deal going down, Cousins' agent came out and said that he didn't expect his client to sign a long-term deal with any team that traded for him. But it seems the Pelicans were willing to take a risk in the hopes of Anthony Davis and Cousins meshing and doing some big things for New Orleans both this season and for the foreseeable future. Now we'll just have to wait and see whether or not Cousins ultimately decides to settle down in New Orleans.
