Glen Rice Jr., who spent time playing for the Wizards and several NBA D-League teams after getting drafted by the 76ers in 2013, was reportedly shot in the leg on Sunday night outside of Scales 925 in Atlanta, a restaurant owned by T.I.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Rice Jr.—the son of longtime NBA player Glen Rice—and several other men were involved in an argument inside of Scales 925 and were asked to leave the premises. Once outside, the men continued arguing and, during the course of their argument, Rice Jr. was shot in the leg.
A police report, which you can read here, indicates that, after being shot, Rice Jr. got into a Porsche driven by another man and made his way to a local hospital. When they arrived, Rice Jr. got out of the car and fell to the ground. He was eventually taken to a different hospital for treatment after paramedics arrived on the scene.
Police reportedly found a revolver that Rice Jr. threw into a stairwell near Scales 925 after examining a surveillance video from the restaurant. The revolver was reported stolen from Chattanooga, Tenn. They also reportedly found a backpack located near the Porsche that contained 240 grams of marijuana and almost $6,000 inside. As a result, Rice Jr. has been charged with reckless conduct and drug possession.
