It might not always seem like it, but Gilbert Arenas and Nick Young are actually good friends. Yes, Gilbert broke into Nick’s house recently and recorded him on Snapchat while simultaneously peppering Nick with questions about Iggy Azalea and tormenting his son. And yes, Nick got "even" with him by taking a photo with Gilbert’s ex Laura Govan and posting it on Instagram. But somehow, those things haven’t ruined their friendship. If anything, they’ve seemingly solidified it.
Despite that, the ESPN show Pardon the Interruption devoted a portion of a segment to Gilbert and Nick’s "beef" on Monday. During "Mail Time," Pablo S. Torre and Tony Kornheiser debated whether or not the pair’s rift is "worthy of our attention." You can listen to their debate at the 16:25 mark here:
We’ve also transcribed the brief conversation about the "beef" below. It sounds like the attention these two have received infuriates Kornheiser in particular to no end:
The segment was likely the product of it being the dead of summer, when there isn’t much else to talk about in the sports world. But as luck would have it, Gilbert ended up catching the segment—or at least catching wind of it—and he responded to it with the type of savagery that Gilbert is now known for on Instagram. He first explained that he doesn’t have "beef" with Young, and somehow, that then led to him telling an incredibly NSFW story about one of the only arguments he’s ever had with Nick. The story Gilbert told involved a stripper in Miami, their former teammate Andray Blatche, and, well, let’s just say we weren’t kidding about it being "incredibly NSFW." Yiiiiikes:
Just in case Gilbert deletes the post (which he almost always does), here’s the caption he included:
Sharing is caring, Gil, but you probably should have kept this story to yourself. At any rate, how long is it going to be before Gilbert & Nick is a reality show?
