Ronda Rousey is still trying to come to terms with her embarrassing UFC 207 loss to Amanda Nunes. Earlier this week, she posted this J.K. Rowling quote on Instagram:
And on Tuesday, she was photographed for the first time since taking the second L of her UFC career when she emerged from her home in Venice Beach, California after it was vandalized with graffiti:
We seriously doubt that advice from Floyd Mayweather is going to make things any better for her at this time—especially when you consider the history that exists between Rousey and Mayweather—but that didn’t stop him from sharing it with her anyway when Fight Hype caught up with Mayweather late Tuesday and asked him about Rousey.
Mayweather actually started things off by talking about the time when people suggested Rousey could beat him in a fight while simultaneously addressing some of the domestic violence allegations that have surrounded him in the past:
But once he was done doing that, he spoke about Rousey’s importance to the UFC and told her that she can still "bounce back" after her loss to Nunes. He said he thinks she should have fought someone other than Nunes after taking such a long time off, but at the same time, he said he doesn’t think her career is necessarily over:
And Mayweather ended things off by saying this:
We’re not sure if Mayweather meant the "you’re undefeated this year" part as a jab or not. But for the most part, he sounded at least somewhat genuine while speaking about Rousey. Wouldn’t it be something if this is ultimately what got Rousey back on her feet and helped her return to the Octagon?
