Back in September 2014, John Starks made an appearance on ESPN’s Highly Questionable and was asked if he knew which Knicks player The Notorious B.I.G. was talking about on his legendary track “I Got a Story to Tell.” Starks said he did, and then he steadfastly refused to give up the name of the player to Dan Le Batard and Bomani Jones. That fueled speculation that the player in question was actually *gasp* him.

“I know who it was about,” Starks said, “but I’m not gonna say.”

On Monday, Fat Joe appeared on Highly Questionable, and before the show even aired, the HQ Twitter account sent out a tweet about how Le Batard and Jones had finally gotten someone to go on the record and talk about which Knicks player Biggie was referring to.

So…who was it? Well, we’ll let Fat Joe tell it:

After Fat Joe gave his answer, Le Batard asked him to confirm that Biggie was, in fact, talking about Anthony Mason:

So there you go. If you believe what Fat Joe is saying here, Biggie was talking about Mason. During his Highly Questionable appearance, the "All the Way Up" rapper also discussed the craziest situation he's ever been in—it was very crazy—and the time Roy Jones Jr. tried to knock him out.
