Syracuse University will no longer have a kiss cam during its home football games after a letter to the editor published at Syracuse.com alleged that it condones sexual assault.
Here's the key passage from the letter written by Steve Port, which really drives the point home:
Kiss cam is regularly used at professional sporting events, and it almost never results in scenarios like the ones described here, probably because of a more mature crowd in what is usually a less rowdy environment.
Given the current sensitivity surrounding the issue of sexual assault on college campuses, however, the decision is completely understandable.
