Former NBA player and current ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins has responded to a viral video in which it sounded like he was moaning during an appearance Monday’s episode of First Take.

On Monday, a clip of Stephen A. Smith and Perk discussing the Dallas Mavericks circulated social media after a Twitter user pointed out that it sounded like a producer was moaning on the mic.

“Dude I was watching First Take and I’m pretty sure the producer left his mic on for this segment you can literally hear him the whole time,” the clip was captioned, and for good reason. As heard in the below video, someone was breathing very loud while Smith and Perkins debated about Luka Doncic.

Hours after the clip went viral, another Twitter user responded by claiming Perkins was the culprit of the heavy breathing.

“Yo that’s Perk,” they wrote. “He always breathing like that.”

It didn’t take long before Perkins caught wind of the video, as the initial account that posted the video tweeted at the former Boston Celtics center, asking him to “clarify” whether it was in fact him breathing on the mic.

Perk didn’t shy away from taking the blame.

“That I’m working while battling the Flu?!” Perkins tweeted. “Some people take days off...not me!”
