Authorities in Ohio have announced arrests in connection with a high-dollar burglary at the home of Shedeur Sanders, the Cleveland Browns quarterback whose rookie season took a dramatic turn both on and off the field.
According to CBS News, three suspects are now in custody following a break-in that occurred on November 16 at Sanders’ residence in Granger Township, a suburb outside Cleveland.
Investigators say a fourth individual, believed to have served as the getaway driver, remains at large and is currently wanted on an active warrant. Law enforcement officials confirmed the investigation has since been completed.
The burglary took place just before 7 p.m. while Sanders was away from home making his NFL debut. Deputies say the suspects allegedly entered the property wearing masks and gloves and escaped with an estimated $200,000 worth of stolen items. Specific details about the stolen property were not released.
The timing of the incident added another layer of intensity to what was already a milestone day for Sanders. The rookie quarterback, selected 144th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, was pressed into action for the Cleveland Browns during their Week 11 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens after Dillon Gabriel went down with an injury. Sanders finished that game, completing four of 16 passes for 47 yards and one interception.
Despite the rocky debut, Sanders went on to start the final seven games of the season. Over that stretch, he completed 56.6% of his passes for 1,400 yards, throwing seven touchdowns against 10 interceptions. The campaign marked the first NFL chapter for the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders.
In recent seasons, several stars have had their homes targeted while they were away playing games. In 2024 alone, residences belonging to Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow were burglarized under similar circumstances.
