Shaquille O’Neal has added plenty of titles to his name since leaving the NBA: TV analyst, DJ, restaurant owner, investor. Now, he’s stepping into a new lane with the release of his very first signature fragrance, available exclusively at JCPenney.

The cologne, eponymously called Shaquille O’Neal, hit shelves this week with a retail price of $55 for a 4.2-ounce bottle. It marks the latest milestone in O’Neal’s seven-year partnership with the retailer, which already carries his XLG big and tall clothing line.

“This fragrance is all about presence,” O’Neal said in a statement, published by Essence. “It’s strong, smooth, and leaves a mark, just like I aim to do in everything I take on. I wanted something luxurious but still within reach, and this is it.”

According to the brand, the scent opens with a sharp mix of bergamot, grapefruit, and black pepper before settling into cardamom, suede, and benzoin. The dry-down leans warmer, with notes of amber, tonka bean, and musk. The result is a bold yet versatile fragrance designed for everyday wear.

The packaging matches O’Neal’s larger-than-life persona: a black bottle accented with metallic gold and copper, etched with his signature across the front.

“Fragrance is one of the top-performing categories for JCPenney Beauty, and our customers love a great celebrity scent,” said Jo Osborne, SVP, GMM Beauty, Center Core & Footwear at JCPenney. “Shaq has been an incredible partner to us through his Shaquille O’Neal XLG big and tall line, which has been a customer favorite for seven years. We’re thrilled to grow that partnership by introducing his signature fragrance.”

The launch comes with a six-month exclusivity window at JCPenney before the fragrance expands to other retailers. For fans of O’Neal—or anyone looking for a scent with presence—that makes now the moment to lock it in.
