A new court filing has added another layer to the ongoing legal disputes involving NBA star Anthony Edwards, as one of his children’s mothers has now entered the case to support another, potentially strengthening arguments about where child support should be decided.
According to newly surfaced documents obtained by TMZ, Ayesha Howard submitted a declaration from Alexandria Desroches as part of her effort to have child support determined in California. In that statement, Desroches claims Edwards has been sending her voluntary monthly payments via wire transfer from a Beverly Hills bank account.
Jurisdiction has been one of the central battlegrounds in the case. Edwards has consistently maintained that child support matters should be handled in Georgia, while Howard has pushed for proceedings in Los Angeles County, where she resides with their daughter, Aubri, born in October 2024. A California judge previously ruled the state lacked jurisdiction, but Howard has continued to challenge that outcome.
Edwards’ legal team has pushed back forcefully. In response to the latest filings, his attorneys asked the court to seal portions of the case and accused Howard of repeatedly filing “meritless and harassing motions.”
The dispute builds on more than a year of legal back-and-forth between Edwards and Howard. After their daughter’s birth, the two filed competing cases in different states, each arguing for a favorable venue. Edwards has stated he is not seeking custody or visitation, while Howard has said she has been the child’s sole caregiver.
