If there’s one thing Luka Doncic seems to enjoy, it’s turning tense basketball moments into memes.
According to ClutchPoints (via Yahoo!), during a nationally televised matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, cameras caught an unexpected postgame exchange that instantly went viral online.
As players gathered at midcourt after New York’s 112–100 win, Doncic greeted former teammate Jalen Brunson with a dap and a grin — then briefly flashed his middle finger.
The clip instantly went viral, but it was all in good fun, as the pair seemed to laugh it off shortly after.
Doncic had already given the building plenty to talk about before the handshake.
He put together a near triple-double, finishing with 30 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists while knocking down five shots from deep. It was the kind of stat line that keeps the Lakers within striking distance even when the scoreboard says otherwise.
And Brunson wasn’t the only New Yorker he sparred with.
Earlier, longtime Knicks superfan Spike Lee tried to chirp from his usual courtside seat. It’s unclear how much influence that had on the game, but it didn’t matter because the Knicks took home a rare victory.
The New York Knicks protected home court with a 112–100 win over the Los Angeles Lakers at Madison Square Garden, fueled by a balanced offensive effort and steady late-game execution.
Doncic led Los Angeles statistically with 30 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists, connecting on five shots from three-point range to keep the Lakers within reach.
LeBron James added 22 points, but New York countered with stronger scoring depth, highlighted by OG Anunoby’s 25 points. The Knicks controlled key stretches in the second half, converting stops into transition opportunities and maintaining separation to secure the double-digit victory.
