LeBron James is adjusting to a new phase of fatherhood — one where his oldest son, Bronny, no longer lives under the same roof.

After the Los Angeles Lakers’ 140–126 win over the Utah Jazz on Tuesday night, the 40-year-old star shared that Bronny, now in his second NBA season, officially has his own place.

“I think he’s enjoying the process,” LeBron told reporters, including Us Weekly, when asked about Bronny’s growth as a pro and about his newfound independence. “I think you can, obviously, ask him more than me. He’s not a resident anymore so we don’t talk as much, he has his own place.”

LeBron laughed, then called out off-camera, “Bronny, how are you!?”

Bronny, 21, is the eldest child of LeBron and Savannah James, followed by siblings Bryce, 18, and Zhuri, 11. The father-son duo made history last season as the first active NBA family pair to share a roster.

This year marks their second season as teammates, with Bronny continuing to carve out his role and LeBron returning to action after missing the first 14 games with sciatica.

LeBron logged 11 points and 12 assists in his season debut, extending his record-setting streak of double-digit scoring to 1,293 consecutive games. Bronny, meanwhile, has been steadily developing his game, earning minutes and attention as one of the league’s most closely watched young players.

The two first shared the court in 2024, fulfilling a goal LeBron had discussed publicly while Bronny was still in high school and later at USC.

For now, they’re balancing being teammates with the reality that Bronny has officially moved out and settled into adult life. LeBron made it clear there’s no tension between father and son — just the natural shift that comes when your child has their own apartment, schedule, and growing career.
