LeBron James is expanding his empire off the court with a pair of massive new homes rising in Beverly Hills.
According to Realtor.com, the NBA icon purchased a 2.72-acre estate for $37 million in 2020 and immediately tore down the original 1930s four-bedroom mansion that sat on the property. Now, he’s splitting the land into two separate lots, each with its own ultra-modern residence.
The larger home will stretch close to 16,000 square feet across two levels, with an additional 7,700-square-foot basement garage. A second multi-level garage will also be constructed above ground, giving the property significant car storage.
Outside, residents will find a pool, spa, outdoor kitchen, and a roof outfitted with solar panels to keep the home energy-efficient. The estate's location offers sweeping views of Beverly Hills.
The second home will be smaller but still impressive. Plans show a single-story, 6,550-square-foot residence with a basement movie theater and an entertainment area. It will also feature a ground-level two-car garage, a large terrace with plunge pools, and a courtyard landscaped with palm trees.
Both homes will be connected by a communal motor court anchored by a water feature. The estate’s security will be reinforced with a 209-square-foot guard house at the entrance, 10-foot-high perimeter fencing, and a high-tech alarm system.
The project is being led by luxury real estate firm Crest and the architecture group Walker Workshop, known for creating some of Los Angeles’ most exclusive homes.
Construction began in 2023, and while completion is still underway, the design points to a family-focused compound. Reports suggest the second home could be intended for James’ eldest son, Bronny, who recently joined the Lakers.
Even as the real estate project moves forward, James continues to make headlines on the court. Entering his 23rd NBA season, he’s on track to become the first player in league history to reach that milestone.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to be able to play the game that I love for another season,” James said during media day. “I know it’s a lot sooner than later, but I’m invested in the journey.”
