Kayla Vesia is speaking publicly for the first time since the devastating loss of her baby daughter, offering a quiet, emotional update on how she and her husband, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Vesia, are coping in the aftermath of unimaginable grief.

According to E!, nearly two months after the couple announced the death of their newborn, Sterling Sol Vesia, Kayla shared a heartfelt message in a January 2 TikTok video, acknowledging both the pain of the loss and the support that has surrounded them since.

The 29-year-old influencer began by admitting that there are still no clear words to explain what she and Alex are experiencing.

“I don’t have much to say, honestly,” Kayla said. “Alex and I are trying to get through it every day. Every day is so different for us, and I don’t really have the words.”

Sterling passed away on October 26. The Vesias confirmed the news publicly on November 7 with a joint Instagram post that included a photo of their daughter’s tiny hand.

In that message, they wrote, “Our beautiful daughter went to heaven Sunday October 26th. There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her.”

Reflecting on that moment now, Kayla shared how the reality of loss still feels unreal. “I was prepared for whatever was going to happen,” she said through tears. “I wasn’t prepared for not taking my baby home.”

Despite the heartbreak, Kayla emphasized how meaningful the outpouring of love has been, particularly from the baseball community. In their original statement, the Vesias thanked the Dodgers organization, fellow teams, and fans for their compassion, noting that the support brought them comfort during an isolating time.

In her TikTok update, Kayla also addressed questions about her future online presence. While she doesn’t yet know what sharing will look like, she hopes her platform can eventually serve as a source of connection for others navigating similar loss.

“I do want to share my journey,” she explained. “If it can help somebody who’s going through the same thing feel like they’re not alone.”

Kayla clarified that the intention isn’t to relive grief publicly, but to find a different outlet alongside private conversations with loved ones and therapy. “It’s just a different outlet,” she said.

As the new year begins, Kayla acknowledged the uncertainty ahead, closing her message with gratitude and honesty. “I don’t know what this year is going to bring,” she said. “I’ll slowly be getting back on here. Love you guys, and that’s about it for right now.”
