Thanksgiving games are known for football, food, and moments that live far beyond the final whistle. This year, the Green Bay Packers added an unexpected viral chapter to that tradition — one that briefly left a Detroit Lions security guard at the center of online speculation.

After Green Bay’s 31–24 road win over the Lions at Ford Field on Thanksgiving 2025, the postgame scene unfolded the way it often does on the holiday.

Players gathered around a table stacked with turkey as FOX conducted live interviews with quarterback Jordan Love and pass rusher Micah Parsons. Cameras rolled as players dug in, turning the on-field victory into a very visible celebration.

Among those celebrating was Nazir Stackhouse, an undrafted rookie defensive lineman out of Georgia. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, while holding his plate, Stackhouse turned toward a nearby event security guard and offered him a bite.

The guard initially declined, glancing around as if unsure whether accepting food while on duty was allowed. After some encouragement from those nearby, he relented and took a bite — while another security staffer subtly tried to shield the moment from view.

The interaction was brief, quiet, and seemingly harmless. But once the video of the exchange surfaced online, it spread quickly, bringing with it rumors that the security guard had been fired or disciplined for the moment.

Those claims were later shut down.

TMZ Sports confirmed that no disciplinary action was taken, citing a Lions spokesperson who dismissed the reports outright. “This employee was not disciplined at all for this situation,” the spokesperson said. “The report is inaccurate.”

The moment marked a minor subplot within a much larger Thanksgiving showcase. Love threw four touchdown passes in the Green Bay Packers’ win, while Parsons recorded 2.5 sacks in his first Thanksgiving game with Green Bay after being traded from Dallas earlier in the season.
