The pressure surrounding Deion Sanders and Colorado football isn't limited to the sidelines. According to Deion Sanders Jr., another disappointing season could affect more than just the Buffaloes' win-loss record.

In a recent Well Off Media vlog, Sanders Jr. was discussing Colorado's latest recruiting successes with Director of Player Personnel Darius Darden-Box when the conversation turned to the importance of translating those wins into on-field results. After Darden-Box detailed the program's efforts in Florida, Sanders Jr. joked about what's at stake for him personally.

"Well, I appreciate you, man, because we gotta win," Sanders Jr. said. "Or I'mma be out of a job."

The comment was delivered with a laugh, but it reflected the reality of Colorado's current situation. Sanders Jr.'s Well Off Media platform has become the unofficial behind-the-scenes home of the Buffaloes under Coach Prime, documenting everything from recruiting visits and team meetings to family moments and player profiles.

The concern comes after a difficult 2025 campaign that fell well short of expectations. Just one year removed from a 9-4 season that produced a Heisman Trophy winner in Travis Hunter and helped elevate Shedeur Sanders into one of college football's biggest stars, the Buffaloes stumbled to a 3-9 record.

The season raised questions about roster depth, quarterback uncertainty, and Colorado's ability to sustain the momentum generated during the early years of the "Prime Effect."

Still, Colorado's leadership appears focused on rebuilding rather than dwelling on the previous season. Darden-Box highlighted the program's recruiting gains during the vlog, noting that Colorado hosted 10 visitors on campus and has landed five commitments from Florida alone.

"We had 10 people here on campus," Darden-Box said. "Some good families, a lot of Florida cats. We got five guys committed from the state of Florida. I'm trying to make Pop's proud with that."

The recruiting push has become a central part of Colorado's turnaround strategy. After losing dozens of players through roster turnover, the Buffaloes responded by bringing in 43 transfer portal additions while also strengthening their future pipeline.

Colorado's 2027 recruiting class recently climbed into the top 10 of the Big 12 rankings and sits No. 37 nationally in the latest composite rankings.

For Deion Sanders, the stakes remain significant. The Hall of Famer signed a five-year, $54 million extension that runs through 2029, and the university invested heavily in his vision for the program.
