Angel Reese is doubling down on a message that’s already been circulating in her inner circle: block out the noise and keep moving.

In a recent appearance on the IMO podcast with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson, Angel Reese opened up about how she’s handling the criticism that has followed her transition from Chicago to the Atlanta Dream. The WNBA forward made it clear that while the attention hasn’t always been positive, it hasn’t slowed her down either.

“I try not to let the negative outshine the positive,” Reese said. “Every moment hasn’t been great, but I wouldn’t change this life for anything because I’ve had some really good moments.”

The comments arrive shortly after Orlando Magic center Wendell Carter Jr.—Reese’s boyfriend—spoke about their shared approach to handling outside pressure. Carter described the constant scrutiny around both of their careers as “white noise,” explaining that the two rely on each other to stay focused on performance rather than perception.

Reese’s latest remarks reinforce that mindset. “I don’t even let the negativity get to me,” she said. “I’ve grown to have a skin where you can’t break me. You just can’t break me.”

That approach has become increasingly relevant as Angel Reese’s profile continues to expand. The 23-year-old has remained in the spotlight across multiple lanes, from basketball to fashion to business.

She recently made history as the first female athlete to wear her own signature sneaker on the cover of Vogue Australia, showcasing her Reebok AR1 line. She also became the first professional athlete to walk in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, further extending her reach beyond the court.

Off the court, Reese has also been part of several high-profile moments, including supporting her brother, Julian Reese, during his early NBA games with the Washington Wizards. At the same time, her relationship with Carter has drawn additional attention, positioning the pair as one of basketball’s most talked-about couples.

The increased visibility hasn’t come without challenges. Reese acknowledged that navigating public narratives has been one of the more difficult parts of her journey, particularly after entering the league and adjusting to life as a professional athlete.

Still, she framed the experience as part of a larger process. “I have so many goals,” Reese said. “If I stop now, I proved you right… I have nothing to prove to anybody but myself.”
