Alaric Jackson, the starting left tackle for the Los Angeles Rams, was arrested this week on suspicion of felony domestic violence in Los Angeles, adding a new legal challenge to the career of one of the franchise's most important offensive linemen.
The Los Angeles Police Department told NBC Los Angeles that Jackson was arrested Monday night, June 8, on a charge involving "a person who willfully inflicts corporal injury" against a spouse. Investigators believe the incident began after Jackson allegedly thought a woman was recording him with a cellphone and attempted to take the device from her. Authorities reportedly observed scratch marks on the woman's arms during the investigation. Jail records show Jackson was booked shortly after 4 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, and was later released on a $50,000 bond.
The organization acknowledged the situation in a statement, saying: "We are aware of the incident regarding Alaric Jackson, and we take these matters very seriously. Due to this being an ongoing legal situation, we cannot comment further at this time."
This is not the first off-field issue tied to Jackson. In 2024, he served a two-game suspension after the NFL determined he had violated the league's personal conduct policy.
That same year, he was sued by a woman who alleged he recorded her during a sexual encounter without her consent and refused to delete the footage. The lawsuit was initially filed in Los Angeles Superior Court before being transferred to federal court, where it was ultimately dismissed in April 2025.
Despite those setbacks, Jackson rebounded on the field. After overcoming a serious blood-clot condition that interrupted his career, he emerged as the Rams' primary blind-side protector and delivered one of the strongest seasons of his career in 2025.
His performance earned an 82.9 overall grade from Pro Football Focus, ranking him among the NFL's top tackles. The Rams rewarded him with a three-year, $57 million contract extension in February 2025.
