AJ Styles is officially headed to the WWE Hall of Fame.

Per an official company announcement, during a farewell appearance in his home state of Georgia, Styles was surprised by The Undertaker, who personally delivered the news that he would be part of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

The reveal took place in front of Styles’ family, who cheered as their patriarch received his well-deserved flowers.

The induction cements Styles’ place among the most accomplished performers of his era. Since arriving in WWE in 2016, he has built a résumé that includes two WWE Championship reigns and a Grand Slam title collection. His run also featured defining rivalries with names like John Cena, Roman Reigns, and The Undertaker—feuds that helped shape WWE’s modern landscape.

The announcement comes at a time when Styles’ future has already been under intense discussion. Leading into the Royal Rumble, he faced Gunther in a high-stakes match tied to his career, with the possibility of retirement looming over the outcome.

Around the same time, longtime rival Shinsuke Nakamura stirred conversation after sharing—then deleting—a story claiming Styles once told him he planned to retire “at the Royal Rumble.”

The Phenomenal One has repeatedly stated that 2026 will mark the end of his in-ring career.

“I will definitely retire within the next year,” Styles said previously. “I don’t want the fans to see me as anyone other than AJ Styles.”

Even in recent appearances, Styles has continued to perform at a level that reinforces his reputation across multiple eras of wrestling. During WWE’s Crown Jewel event, he reminded audiences of that longevity, telling fans, “I’m getting old… there comes a time… and in 2026, I will retire.”

Outside speculation has only added to the conversation. On a recent episode of Kliq This, Kevin Nash suggested that Styles could still have more matches left, even floating the idea of a short run in AEW after his WWE exit.
