UPDATED 8/12/25, 1:47 p.m. ET: Domestic violence charges against Gervonta Davis have reportedly been dropped, as the victim has declined to prosecute, according to TMZ.
"The witness to the incident, who is the victim’s mother, also failed to cooperate and failed, after being subpoenaed for a prefile conference on Thursday 8/7," the publication reported the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office as saying. "Followed up attempts to contact the witness (mother) via phone were unsuccessful."
The statement continued, "The incident itself was not observed by the police officer who had been called to the scene eliminating him as a possible witness to what had transpired."

Boxer Gervonta Davis has been arrested on domestic violence charges after allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
As reported by TMZ, the 30-year-old boxer was arrested on Friday (July 11) after being pulled over by officers in Miami Beach for allegedly assaulting an ex-girlfriend last month. As first reported by Andy Slater, Davis has been accused of hitting his ex in the back of the head and slapping her across the face on June 15, which was Father's Day.
Davis was reportedly picking up his children from his ex when they got into an argument that later turned physical. The alleged victim's mother told authorities she saw her daughter "visibly distressed and crying" after the incident. A video was also provided to the police that showed him throwing a box at her.
This isn't Davis' first run-in with the law. An arrest warrant was issued in 2017 on aggravated assault charges after he allegedly punched a childhood friend. The following year, he was arrested for getting into a fight with a man in Washington, D.C., and in 2020, he was arrested on charges of simple battery and domestic violence against one of his ex-girlfriends.
His 2023 fight against Héctor García was almost postponed indefinitely after he was arrested in Florida on a battery domestic violence charge. Leaked 911 phone calls featured a woman accusing Davis of trying to "kill" her.
