Cristiano Ronaldo Breaks YouTube Record After Creating Quickest Channel to Reach 1 Million Subscribers

He hit the subscriber milestone in just 90 minutes.

Cristiano Ronaldo has launched a YouTube channel, and he's already smashing records.

On Wednesday, August 21, the 39-year-old Portuguese soccer star unveiled his YouTube channel, UR Cristiano. He launched the channel with several videos, including a trailer previewing future content, a video showing him and his partner Georgina Rodriguez playing a quiz game, and a clip that shows him meeting his Madame Tussauds wax replica.

In less than 90 minutes, Ronaldo’s channel amassed over 1 million subscribers, making it the fastest channel to reach this milestone. Just over six hours after its launch, the channel hit another major milestone, surpassing 6 million subscribers. At this pace, Ronaldo could break the record for the fastest channel to reach 10 million subscribers, currently held by Hamster Kombat, who reached the milestone in seven days.

It remains to be seen whether Ronaldo will continue to produce content solo, or if he plans to collaborate with other creators on the platform.

There's one YouTube content creator in particular who would love to film something with him: iShowSpeed. Earlier this year, the 19-year-old streamer and content creator splashed $100,000 on a custom-made chain featuring Ronaldo.
