Video Shows Clippers Superfan Being Knocked Out in Altercation After Game

Famous Los Angeles Clippers superfan Clipper Darrell was filmed being knocked out during an altercation that happened following a recent game.

Famous Los Angeles Clippers superfan Clipper Darrell was filmed being knocked out during an altercation that happened following a recent game, per TMZ.

In the video above, Darrell is seen getting into an argument with a security guard at Crypto.com Arena after the Clippers played the Boston Celtics on Tuesday. It appears as though Darrell was attempting to move through a path at the arena, when the guard stopped him from going any further. The guard put his elbow up against Darrell’s neck, which prompted him to quickly move the arm away. Darrell was then struck in the jaw by the guard, and fell back into a trash can.

According to Crypto.com Arena president Lee Zeidman, the fight started after guards attempted to direct Darrell and other fans to some exits. "Clipper Darrell became involved in a verbal and then physical altercation," Zeidman said. "After receiving immediate medical attention, Darryl was transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment. An investigation of the incident was launched which determined the employee’s behavior to be a direct violation of our training and approved responses resulting in the immediate termination and arrest of the employee by the LAPD."

In an interview with TMZ on Wednesday, Darrell said that he’s still in a lot of pain and is currently on medication. The Clippers are reportedly aware of the incident. Darrell has been a dedicated fan of the team for over two decades, and almost always shows up to Clippers games in his signature attire.
