The Oakland Raiders are reportedly considering suspending Antonio Brown after the receiver got into a dispute with the team's general manager, Mike Mayock.
Adam Schefter reports that the team's newly acquired star got into an argument with Mayock after the GM confronted him about posting a disciplinary letter to social media. Brown shared a letter that detailed fines for missing practice to his Instagram, tagging the team and accusing them of harboring negative feelings toward him.
According to Schefter, their talk over this post went south and now Brown might be forced to sit at the beginning of the season.
He also reported that the thought around the league is that the Raiders could suspend Brown long enough to void his guaranteed money, which would effectively end his time in Oakland.
The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the altercation between Brown and Mayock did not get physical, but it certainly got heated.
Brown's first offseason in the Raiders' organization has been tumultuous to say the least. He was forced to sit out several practices with an injured foot that he hurt by wearing improper footwear while standing in a cryogenic chamber. Once he was finally able to return, AB pushed back against league regulations requiring him to change the type of helmet he wore. After going as far as trying to sneak his old helmet into practice, Brown eventually relented and shared the news to Instagram just yesterday.
Needless to say, fans are less than amused with the latest development in the ongoing Brown saga.
