A heated moment on the court led to a sweet story for one Denver Nuggets fan. During Monday's game against the Celtics, Kyrie Irving chucked the game ball in the stands after Nuggets guard Jamal Murray put up 48 points on his squad. Irving took offense at Murray's buzzer-beater attempt to reach 50 in an already-decided game.

The ball from the career-high performance landed in the hands of a young fan wearing a Murray jersey. The guard heard about the boy and said he'd be happy to sign the ball or trade for it, according to USA Today. "I'll do that for sure. That'll be fun to interact with a fan," he said. "If the kid's willing to give it up, I'll trade him some shoes or something for it."

That fan got his chance before Friday's Nuggets-Nets game.

Murray apologized for attempting to run up his own stats on the Celtics, but the pictures show he was more than happy to get the ball back from his best-ever NBA game.

Friday night didn't really have a happy ending for the Nuggets, though. The Nets defeated them, 112-110, thanks to a last-second jumper from Caris LeVert.
