Dana White Says Khabib Nurmagomedov Is Staying in the UFC

After an emotional match against Conor Mcgregor and threatening to leave the UFC, Khabib Nurmagomedov has decided to stay.

Dana White wants fans to know that Khabib Nurmagomedov is not leaving the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The UFC president told TMZthat he's worked things out with the champion fighter after his recent match with Conor Mcgregor devolved into an arena-floor-wide brawl.

"We're good with Khabib," White told the gossip site. "He's staying. This will all work out."

Nurmagomedov has been openly critical of the organization and White, saying in post-match interviews that he views the promotion as partly to blame for the ugly end to his win over McGregor. He's noted in post-fight interviews that McGregor was allowed to say disrespectful and racist things in the lead up to their fight without punishment.

Nurmagomedov's threat to quit the UFC came after the organization was considering firing Nurmagomedov's teammate Zubaira Tukhugov for his role in the melee.

The fighter lashed out on Instagram over what he viewed as an unequal punishment.

"Why didn't you fire anyone when [McGregor's] team attacked the bus and injured a couple of people? They could have killed someone there, why no one says anything about insulting my homeland, religion, nation, family?" he wrote. "Why do you have to punish my team, when both teams fought? If you say that I started it, then I do not agree, I finished what he had started."

"If you decide to fire him, you should know that you’ll lose me too." he added.

While that definitely sounds dicey, White says it's all in the past.

"We worked it out. We're gonna get everything worked out," he said. "Listen, guys get very emotional...and that was a very emotional fight for him. At the end of the day, Khabib is a great guy and we've always had a great relationship with him."
