It looks like Anthony Davis still wants out of New Orleans, even after the Pelicans landed the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft. According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, the Pels star hasn't changed his mind about leaving NOLA, even if it means giving up the chance to play alongside Zion Williamson.

"The New Orleans Pelicans are now set up to be Zion Williamson’s franchise to lift, and No. 1 pick could ease potential trade of Anthony Davis," Charania wrote on Twitter. "His stance on a trade has not changed."

The Knicks reportedly wanted to use the leverage of the No. 1 pick to pull in AD. That clearly didn't pan out and Davis is seemingly still looking anywhere but the Crescent City. The Pelicans look to be in denial, thinking that their new direction in the front office could keep Davis in the city.

"Make no mistake about this, we are in the business we are competing for championships," new executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin said, while revealing how he expects Davis to remain with the Pelicans. "This is the last day someone in basketball ops will say this... You earn the right to have other people say the word championships about you."
