Tyreek Hill was detained by law enforcement officials on Sunday morning just outside of Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Footage of the 30-year-old Miami Dolphins wide receiver being placed in handcuffs surfaced on social media. According to ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington, Hill was cited for reckless driving after speeding but was arrested after an alleged verbal altercation with police officers.

Darlington also confirmed through Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, that he is getting ready to play in today's Week 1 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

“How things escalated into the situation that they were in, in handcuffs and being held on the ground with police is mind boggling to me,” Rosenhaus told Darlington inside the stadium, saying he was “deeply concerned” by the “heartbreaking” situation.

“We will be looking into it. We will be investigating this. We will look out for Tyreek, but I'm not going to make any allegations at this time. The most important thing is Tyreek is okay physically, mentally—he was very distraught about what happened.”

Rosenhaus added, “Tariq has told me over and over he's a big supporter of police. He was telling the police there, ‘I want to be a police officer in the future, but this is crazy. I've never seen anything like this.’”

He declined to provide further details due to the pending legal situation, but said that he wants Hill to focus on the game and then pursue a formal investigation afterwards.
