Mikal Bridges rolled through lower Manhattan with a familiar bottle in hand.
On Thursday (June 18), the New York Knicks walked the Canyon of Heroes for their first championship parade since 1973.
Multiple social media users identified the bottle Bridges carried as 818 Tequila, the same brand he held during a now-infamous Instagram Live session he held days earlier.
On Monday morning (June 15), less than two days after the Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, the 29-year-old went live on Instagram with the bottle in hand, and said some pretty wild things.
During the livestream, Bridges praised Finals MVP Jalen Brunson, calling him the “GOAT” and joked, “Build that little big-headed ass n***a a statue, bro.”
He also explained how Becky Hammon's comments about Brunson being a "1A" player became motivation during the postseason.
"I appreciate Becky no cap because the words she said about can't win with JB being 1A, 1B, he too little... all that did is fuel that na bro. I don't give a fuck what y'all say, what he say, I know him cause he aint going to tell y'all. He know what she said. It fueled that na to go be him and go be fucking great."
Bridges continued joking throughout the stream, referring to Victor Wembanyama as “The fucking French Prince n***a,” and calling Karl-Anthony Towns a "big foot ass n****a."
The parade on Thursday marked the final celebration for the Knicks, with Mayor Zohran Mamdani speaking and Alicia Keys performing "Empire State of Mind" at City Hall. Fat Joe and Remy Ma also performed their 2004 hit “Lean Back” on a parade float.
