This past Sunday the Seattle Seahawks danced all over the Denver Broncos, to the tune of 43-8. After the game the Hawks locker room became the center of media attention, and while Marshawn Lynch still wasn’t prepared to give any sound bites to reporters, he did continue the celebrations by dancing around for several minutes on his own. Beast Mode didn’t exactly go Fred Astaire on us, but he did get us thinking about how athletes love to feel the beat both on and off the field of play. Whether it be the purest form of celebration or just having a good time with some music, athletes, like the rest of us, love to bust a move. There’s no doubt some pros are better dancers than others, as you’ll soon see, but time has shown that no matter where or when, sometimes all you need to do is dance. From Danny Green jumping around in Chapel Hill to Michigan State feeling some type of way after their heroic Rose Bowl victory, pump up the volume and check out, A Brief History of Athletes Getting Their Groove On.

Deion Sanders Stars in "Must Be the Money"

Year: 1993

It must be the money, Prime, because how else could you explain having the audacity to make something like this? Gotta love the '90s, right? Fun fact: Sanders actually signed to MC Hammer's label, and filmed this video at Hammer's house before it went up for auction after Hammer went broke.

Mark Madsen, Still the White Boy Golden Standard

Year: 2001

Mark Madsen, setting the white people's dance movement back one shake at a time. Seriously, Madsen and Elaine should get together and make a music video so we can all have something to cheer us up on really bad days. You just know Kobe wanted to get him with that Super Soaker, too, but the Mamba let him have his moment in the sun. Props to Shaq on his MC skills, though. Think Madsen had any friends after this Lakers championship parade?

Danny Green Cleaned Up at UNC

Year: 2007

This video certainly is a hidden gem from Danny Green's UNC days. Just check out the moves from the former Tar Heel. Thank you, YouTube, for allowing us to relive one of the lesser-known highlights from Green's college career.

Bernard Pollard Has Moves For Days

Year: 2008

So this is the type of crap that went down in the Chiefs locker room before Andy Reid arrived? And this was the year Kansas City was featured on HBO's Hard Knocks, no less. We can't hate, though, Bernard Pollard clearly knows how to get his grove on. Remember kids, they got dancers in Fort Wayne. You know, in case you ever find yourselves in a, You Got Served situation.

Shaq and the Jabbawockeez Rock the All-Star Game

Year: 2009

Who could forget this performance from the 2009 All-Star game? Apparently that desert sun can make people do some pretty crazy things. And, what, they couldn't find a white mask to fit the Big Shaqtus' face?

Peyton Manning Can Shake it

Year: 2009

This is probably the most laidback that you will ever see Peyton Manning, ever again. The dancing around is one thing, Manning even looks like he can bounce, but playing the air guitar on coach's leg, well, we've reached a whole new level. We think the general consensus is that both Mannings killed it on SNL, and there's probably a future in broadcasting for both.

Alex Ovechkin?

Year: 2010

dfjkfdkjdfjkhtdhj???? Well, this dude is really good at scoring goals, so we'll give him a pass? You be the judge. Let's just enjoy this for the Euro white boy special that it is.

John Wall Teaches Us How to Dougie

Year: 2010

Now this is how you announce yourself to your new fan base. Some rookies have trepidations about stepping out onto the home court for their first big league game, John Wall Dougies his way into the hearts of the Wizards faithful. Props to JVG for keeping it real on the commentary, too.

Tom Brady Gets Into the Carnival Spirit

Year: 2011

His name was Tom, he was a quarterback, and...for fuck's sake, Brady, you have to know cameras are everywhere. Back in 2011, Brady and Giselle went down to Brazil for Carnival and, well, engaged in whatever this is. Apparently, Tom has no qualms about putting his hair back and, uh, getting down to business. Raise the roof!

VCU Cooks Their Way to the Sweet 16

Year: 2011

This is slightly less coordinated than some of the other team dances we've seen, but these kids just knocked off an undefeated Purdue and are moving on to the Sweet 16. Clearly the Rams had the recipe for success, until they ran into Butler in the Final Four. Still, unreal tournament for Shaka Smart's crew.

Hope Solo and Alex Morgan, Wii Like

Year: 2011

Anyone else have the sneaking suspicion that a bottle of red wine was consumed shortly before this round of Just Dance: Summer Party? This was definitely some redemption for Solo's performance on Dancing With The Stars. We'll tell you one thing though, this is definitely the type of party we'd like to snag an invite to.

Victor Cruz and Ashanti Salsa Like Pros

Year: 2012

Ashanti definitely looks like she's having a good time with the Giants wideout at this party. Victor Cruz was just letting all the haters know that his moves off the field are just as good as his dances in the slot. We see you, fam.

Dwight Howard Puts on a Magic Show

Year: 2012

Some players do a little move when they hit the floor at home, that's cool. But Dwight Howard takes it to the next level with these gyrations. If only Howard put this much effort into his game in Orlando, maybe fans wouldn't hate so much. Catch the announcer talking about how D12 says he loves the fans so much, too? Ah, the power of recorded video.

Utah State Football Has an Impromptu Dance Off

Year: 2012

Kudos to the Utah State coaching staff, right here. This is spring practice after all, things should not be taken that seriously. Some, er', interesting moves from the coaches, too. This is how you build team morale.

The Miami Heat Dance All Over the Celtics

Year: 2012

We know this probably wasn't coordinated ahead of time, being that it was a Game 7 and all, but the Heat certainly seem to all start dancing around in unison. Not much else to highlight here, other than Ronny Turiaf looking like he's dancing at some backyard party somewhere instead of a locker room. Look at that smile.

Sean Weatherspoon Breaks it Down in the ATL

Year: 2012

It looks like the Falcons defense, apparently better known as D-Block, had a little extra time on their hands one day at practice. Freestyle Friday at the Falcons practice facility looks like more fun than most Friday walk-throughs in the NFL, you have to at least say that.

Tubby Smith and the Golden Gophers Channel Their Inner Kesha

Year: 2013

Because nothing says we just knocked off the No. 20 team in the nation in overtime like, dancing to Kesha? You damn right. Tubby Smith and his team, really more Tubby than anyone else, rocked out to "Die Young" after knocking off Wisconsin last February. Everyday is a wonderful day, as long as we can watch this video.

Russell Westbrook Gives Interpretive Dance a Try

Year: 2013

This is what happens when an NBA superstar is sidelined by an injury. They absolutely lose their shit. We get it, Russell, you were going crazy away from the court, but this just isn't the way to keep you or us entertained. More dunking and three-point draining, less of whatever this is.

MSU and Mark Dantonio Feel Some Type of Way

Year: 2014

Rich Homie Quan's hit became something of an anthem for this past year's Michigan State football team. So did you really think they'd be bumping anything but this jam after their epic fourth down stop against Stanford in the Rose Bowl? Here's the real question, who's digging the song more, Dantonio or the players?

Marshawn Lynch Celebrates Super Bowl 48

Year: 2014

Because how else would one celebrate winning the Super Bowl? Beast Mode still wasn't saying a word to the media, but he let his locker room dancing do all the talking necessary. Check out the ski mask, too. Lynch and Co. were definitely ready to ride on the Broncos on Sunday.
