Ball-hog, ball-stopper, or anti-facilitator, whatever you want to call Kobe Bryant over the course of his 19-year career, we all know he's never been one to preach passing the ball.
Oh, how the times have changed.
In the middle of what's shaping up to be the final year of Bryant's brilliant career, one in which he's shooting careers lows from the field (34 percent) and beyond the arc (21.5 percent), the future Hall of Famer is stressing to his extremely young teammates the virtues of sharing the basketball. Los Angeles features nine players who have three years of experience or less on its 15-man roster, including four rookies. And with a 2-10 record entering Sunday evening's game against the Trail Blazers and sitting at 26th in the league averaging 19.0 assists per game, the young Lakers would be wise to listen to the grizzled veteran.
