Chances are you've seen a Wrangler commercial or two featuring Brett Favre. Or maybe you've read about the huge farm he's retired to back in his native Mississippi. Either way, you know he's a country boy who enjoys the great outdoors.
So when CBSSports.com dropped an oral history of the gunslinging quarterback today, featuring snippets from former teammates and coaches, it should have come as no surprise that there was a story or two about Favre and Mother Nature. Mark Brunell provided the perfect anecdote, hilariously—or horrifyingly, depending on your views—recalling a story Favre told him about the time as a kid he crossed paths with a deer on someone else's property.
As Brunell tells it, Favre was out with a friend, or some pals, and was totting a .22 caliber rifle when they spotted the wild animal.
PETA outrage to follow.
