On Monday night, LeBron James addressed the news of Kobe and Gianna Bryant's death in a helicopter crash.

"I’m Not Ready but here I go," LeBron wrote in an emotional post on Instagram. "Man I sitting here trying to write something for this post but every time I try I begin crying again just thinking about you, niece Gigi and the friendship/bond/brotherhood we had! I literally just heard your voice Sunday morning before I left Philly to head back to LA. Didn’t think for one bit in a million years that would be the last conversation we’d have." LeBron went on to say his "heart goes to Vanessa and the kids" and vowed to continue Kobe's legacy.

In his last tweet, Kobe congratulated LeBron on surpassing him on the NBA's all-time scoring list to reach the third spot.

Kobe and LeBron's relationship goes back years. Outside of playing against each other in the NBA, they both were part of Team USA at the Olympics in 2008 and 2012.

Earlier on Monday, the NBA announced that it was postponing Tuesday's Lakers-Clippers game in the wake of Kobe's death.
