In case you were wondering, unsigned free agent Carmelo Anthony definitely still wants to play in the NBA.

It's been about a year since the 35-year-old played a game in the league. The last time he was on the court for an NBA game was while he was with the Houston Rockets. The team traded Anthony to the Bulls, who decided to waive him. He averaged 13.4 points per game in the past season and 16.2 points per game in the season before while he was with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He has a career average of 24 points per game. Despite being away from the league for a minute, the 10-time All-Star said he wants back in.

"I don't really want to get into all that but I'm surprised, of course. It is what it is at this point," he said. "I'm sitting back waiting to see what happens. Spending time with the family right now, that's all I can focus on and other things I have going." When asked if he wanted to play in the league, Carmelo responded, "2,000 percent. Make that the headline."

There were previously reports that players on the Nets, particularly Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, wanted Carmelo to join them in Brooklyn. So far, things haven't panned out.
