The Carolina Panthers will go up for sale at the end of this year, according to an announcement by current owner Jerry Richardson last week. Diddy has made it clear he wants to own the team, but one thing is clearer: he would need some help.
Former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has said he's in. (Diddy has also said if he bought the team, he would sign Kaepernick, which Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is apparently "cool" with.)
As potential buyers have surfaced in rumors, Steph Curry's name has been thrown around. Considering Curry agreed to a deal worth more than $200 million with Golden State this past offseason, plus he has a stake in Under Amour, he clearly has quite a bit of loose change. Oh, and the North Carolina native is a huge Panthers fan.
Would Steph actually be interested in a potential ownership role, though, or is it all hot noise? According to ESPN's Rachel Nichols, Curry is indeed interested.
"I'm serious, I'm really serious about that," Curry told Nichols. "I think it's such a unique opportunity to impact my hometown."
