In 2006, Marshawn Lynch famously jacked an injury cart and rode around the football field after his Cal Golden Bears pulled out a big W. Ten years later, Cal commemorated the iconic moment by giving out bobbleheads of Marshawn on the cart.
Now, Beast Mode has shared his own account of the incredible memory. In an interview with former NBA player Matt Barnes on behalf of LeBron James' production company, Uninterrupted, Marshawn talked through his thought process in that moment.
"They probably don't even remember when I scored the game-winning touchdown," Marshawn said of fans bringing up that game. "They just remember when I bounced in the golf cart. And the first thing I do, I look to the left, look to the right, oh it's a cart, an injury cart. I grab that motherfucker. The keys was in there. It was meant to happen."
How was it meant to happen? Well, the situation was just set up perfectly for Marshawn to hop in and cruise. The universe was begging for Marshawn to take the whip on a joy ride.
"The keys was in there, it was facing in the direction I needed to go," Lynch said. "So I slid in that thing, started yoking that motherfucker."
Marshawn, who spent the first three years of his career with the Buffalo Bills and next five with the Seattle Seahawks, is preparing to enter his second season with the Oakland Raiders. Coming out of Cal, he was the No. 12 overall pick in 2007.
