Being a high-level athlete involves lots of mental gymnastics. There are levels to this game, and once you reach a certain level, the struggle is more internal than external. As many pros are fond of saying, your biggest opponent is yourself. The war is between you and you.

Therefore, you can imagine LeBron James talks to himself quite frequently. King James took a quip of his internal chatter public Tuesday afternoon, as he posted a self-congratulatory message.

James and the reeling Cavaliers host the somehow-still-excellent San Antonio Spurs Tuesday night, with the Cavs swingman only seven points from joining the NBA's exclusive 30,000-point club.

It's all but guaranteed that James will join the club Tuesday. He will become the youngest player in league history to score 30,000. The others who have done it before are among the game's all-time greats: Dirk Nowitzki, Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

It's very likely that James will surpass Kareem's all-time league points record of 38,387. This is what happens when you enter the league straight from high school and are its most dominant player for, like, 15 years.

It's very important to note that James' post garnered likes from Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony. The Banana Boat Boys stick together forever.
